To support civic agency and social accountability through catalytic interventions aimed at unlocking access to urban land for pro-poor housing and good local governance. The activities proposed herein are in line with the organisation's mission and its vision of self-reliant societies and of ensuring that public institutions are responsive, inclusive and accountable.

To address the democratic deficit and underdevelopment of our field, we develop investigative journalism, a public interest task we believe is key to free, capable media and open, accountable, just democracy.

An inclusive and gender equitable society where human rights are valued, realised and protected and where all citizens have access to the means to ensure a decent standard of living and quality of life.

To encourage South African decision makers to support the just transition to agroecology in their policies and programmes  and that duty bearers are held to account, to give effect to human rights and for food sovereignty, climate resilience and social justice.

To support the growth of a diverse movement in South Africa that is mobilised, and influences institutions of power to ensure a regulatory system that advances environmental and climate justice and upholds Constitutional rights in the context of a Just Transition from fossil fuels to a low-carbon economy, in the interest of a more equal society where all people and the planet flourish.

To have inclusive and equitable cities realised for dispossessed communities through active citizenry
